 6.2.1.3 An inclusive school has an approach to professional development that 1. encourages teachers to engage in reflective practice and research; 2. helps teachers be responsive to the diversity of students in their classrooms; 3. emphasizes how social class and power relationships can breed sexism, racism and other forms of marginalization; and 4. includes opportunities for teachers to work collaboratively with other teachers and professionals. 6.2.4.3 The Government of Alberta should fund professional development that helps teachers to promote cultural understanding, promote cultural perspectives, support cultural resiliency and eliminate discrimination in their increasingly diverse classrooms. [1992, 2022]
