About me
Carmen Leibel spent 15+ years in broadcast journalism as an anchor and reporter for CTV and now runs her business called Project Five, Communicate with Confidence!
Using the public speaking tips and tricks she’s learned throughout her career, Project Five has five simple steps to help students of all ages feel more comfortable and confident speaking in front of others. Carmen strongly believes that helping students learn these crucial communication skills will benefit them in both their personal and, eventually, their professional lives.
Since launching the Project Five in-school residencies and workshops hundreds of students from elementary to post-secondary have been coming out of their shell and gaining confidence using their voice.
In previous years, Carmen also spent time working in the Office of Public Affairs with the University of Alberta helping researchers, students and professors prepare for media interviews and with public speaking. She has also dedicated time with local organizations, as an emcee and volunteer, such as the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, St. Albert Sturgeon Hospice Association, Rivers Edge Counselling Centre, Canadian Breast Cancer Society, Wellspring Edmonton, Edmonton Down Syndrome Society, and Autism Speaks.
